Quality: Every strategy I'll implement for you is of the
highest quality. I know this, as before I implement any
strategy for a client, I have already researched it and tested
it on my own internet businesses. I will never risk a new
strategy on your business or brand, without first proving that
the strategy works on my own.
The internet is an extremely fast moving and evolving world.
For example, at the writing of this page, Twitter is the
newest fad. I'm sure it remain so too, for the next 3 - 6
months. After that though, there will be the next newest
thing. The biggest problem with this though is that the latest
fad is not replaced by the newest fad, they become an
additional requirement. For example, the pre Twitter fad was
Facebook. Even though millions of people are now using Twitter
to market their brand, there are still hundreds of millions on
people using Facebook, with millions of new members joining
each year.
Its not an either/or, you need to do it all. The audience and
markets on every successful internet fad are just too big to
ignore. And this is on top of all the necessary internet
prerequisites like optimising your website for the search
engines, having an effective email marketing campaign and
implementing a bunch of other internet based initiatives that
tie everything together.
To ensure I
maintain the highest quality of internet marketing services, I
spend about $10,000 a year of my own money to purchase manuals
and information on both existing marketing strategies and the
cutting edge new online strategies just emerging. From these
purchases, I research, analyse and test for effectiveness on
my own businesses. When I find certain strategies noticably
improve the effectiveness of my businesses, these are the
strategies I add to my arsenal of tools, which I will
implement for you.
This is how I ensure the quality of my offering. This is how
you can be sure you will only get the best and most effective
internet marketing strategies applied to your business from my
services.
Exclusivity: I will only service 10 clients at a time.
This is the only way I know I can give you the attention your
business deserves. I would much rather turn new clients away
than have the pressure of too many clients mitigate the
quality of service I provide.
Further, while you are my client, I will not engage in any
client who you see as competition. If I get approached by a
business in a similar industry as yours, I will advise you of
the approach and you can tell me whether you see this business
as competition. If you tell me they are your competitors, I
will not engage with them. Providing internet marketing
services for more than one client in the same niche is
counter-productive and just does not work. I will not mitigate
the service I am providing you, by also providing it to your
competitors.
This means that you will get exclusive access to me. I will
always have time for you. You will always enjoy the highest
level of service from me. This also means that at times I need
to refuse new clients. Please don't take it personally if this
happens, it is the only way I can ensure the quality of my
offering and protect my professional reputation.
Intimacy:
One thing I do not like in the internet world is the use of
online helpdesks and other faceless support services. I refuse
to operate in that manner. You will get my direct phone number
and you will be encouraged to call me when you need to. You
will also get my direct email address and be encouraged to
email me.
I only operate with one-on-one communication methods. There
are no support tickets. There are no turn around times. I just
answer the phone and resolve your issues. I want to treat you
the way I like to be treated.
Our Method of
Engagement
Commitment:
Internet marketing strategies are not something you tinker
with. The internet is a competitive market. Today, tinkering
either has no effect or it has a short term effect that is
wasted as soon as your competitor tinkers a little bit more
than you did. Internet marketing takes commitment.
As such, I only engage with clients who recognise the
importance of getting their internet presence right and
therefore are prepared to commit to my services for a minimum
of 6 months.
If you are looking for something a bit more short term, thats
fine, its your decision, I'll have to pass up your custom
though. I'm sure you can find other internet professionals who
are willing to take your money for their services, but given I
only have time for 10 clients, I only want to engage with
businesses who recognise the importance of the internet and
are willing to commit to it.
Priorities: Once you have engaged with me, we will have
a conversation to work out your internet marketing priorities.
This is basically up to you. We make a list of all the
specific things you want to achieve with your website and rank
them in order of importance to you. My role here is advisory
only, prompting you with ideas, alternatives and suggestions.
Initiatives: Having settled on a list of priorities, I
will develop this into a larger list (for my own purposes)
containing the initiatives I must bring to bare to achieve
your priorities. Over the next 6 months or for how ever long
our engagement continues, (most of my clients remain with me
for years) I will dedicate myself to applying the most
appropriate and effective strategies I have, to achieve your
business priorities in an as efficient manner as posible.
There may be tasks you want to carry out yourself and
initiatives you want to get involved in. This is fine and is
something we can definitely discuss. A word of caution though.
I know how busy business people are. Wanting to be involved in
this process and finding the time to do so effectively are two
very different things. Too often I have had clients promise me
information, content or images, only to lose 3 or 6 months in
the process as they never found the time to deliver. This
always causes delays in the achievement of the client's
priorities.
Review: Every 6 months we have a formal review. We
cross check your original priorities against where we are
today. At this point, we discuss the future of our
relationship. Either we continue our arrangement, updating the
priorities as required, or we end the relationship.
This 6 month review does not mitigate my "open phone line"
policy. You can contact me whenever you want. The 6 month
checkpoint though is a useful control point, ensuring my work
continues to support your business objectives.
Costs and Benefits
If my services
are what you are looking for and you are happy with my
engagement model, the following summarises what I provide
clients on a month by month basis.

This is especially important with SMB, where managing cash itself can be the difference between a successful business and a failed business. As such, I try hard to tailor my services and therefore your invoices, to be consistent with your business's cashflow situation. |
